Yinson GreenTech and Weststar Maxus renewed shared commitment to make EV adoption more practical, scalable and commercially viable through the purchase of Maxus eDeliver 5 electric commercial vans.

Yinson GreenTech, Weststar Maxus and SAIC Maxus have signed a strategic collaboration agreement at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026 to accelerate cleaner mobility in Malaysia. The collaboration will bring 300 Maxus eDeliver 5 electric commercial vans into the market, reinforcing a shared commitment and broader effort to support the logistics and transport sectors’ transition towards cleaner and more efficient e-mobility solutions.

The agreement was signed between Kelvin Soon, Managing Director of EV Charging and Leasing, Yinson GreenTech, Julius Jonathan, Chief Operating Officer of Weststar Maxus and Zhao Aimin, Vice-President of SAIC Commercial China. The event was witnessed by Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, and also Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Tan Sri Syed Azman, Group Managing Director of Weststar Group, Lim Han Weng, Group Executive Chairman of Yinson, Syed Muhammad Ammar, Chief Executive Officer of Weststar Maxus, Yang Huaijing, President of SAIC Maxus China and Louisa Brady, Chief Executive Officer of Yinson GreenTech.

This milestone comes at an important time as Malaysia’s passenger EV market continues to gain momentum while the commercial sector is starting to see rising opportunities for greater EV adoption. The market is at an inflection point and is ready for stronger collaboration between public and private sectors in presenting more practical solutions to help companies transition to electric.

To close this gap, Yinson GreenTech, through its drivEV business, offers EV leasing, charging infrastructure and digital fleet intelligence into one complete and seamless ecosystem designed to make electrification simpler, more practical and more commercially viable for businesses. With the addition of 300 Maxus eDeliver 5 electric vans, Yinson GreenTech will have a total fleet of nearly 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs) by year-end.

The number of EVs Yinson GreenTech is placing on Malaysian roads is a testament to its e-mobility ecosystem that is reliable, expanding and ready for businesses to adopt and scale.

Kelvin Soon, Managing Director of EV Charging and Leasing, Yinson GreenTech:

“drivEV is pleased to partner with Weststar Maxus once again to help fleet operators overcome the barriers to electrification.
